The backup left-back is ready to stay and fight for his place after a troubled debut season.

Amidst rumours that Liverpool FC has rejected approaches from Spanish clubs for him, Kostas Tsimikas has stated his intentions to stay at the club and fight for his place.

Speaking to LFC TV at the club’s pre-season training camp in Austra, the 25 year-old Greece international said:

“The first six months [of his Liverpool career] were very difficult for me because I had Covid and two injuries, but the second half of the year was very good.”

“Now I’m more ready and in good shape to give everything for the team and to help the team to achieve our goals.”

“I know I have to challenge the best left-back in the world, for me. This gives me the extra power every day to keep working hard and to be as good as I can.

“My target for next season is to stay healthy, to play more games and to help my team.”

Hopefully, Kostas can kick on this season and spell Robbo for more games this season, as the latter definitely pushed the limits of human endurance by seemingly being on the pitch for every Liverpool game.
