Mohamed Salah wants to keep on doing it for the Reds.
As you know, Liverpool’s players are all best friends and sleep in a clubhouse at Melwood. It’s been the secret to Jürgen Klopp’s success. But it’s not so secret anymore. Now that Liverpool have won the Champions League and the Premier League and the Super Cup and the Club World Cup, other clubs are going to hear more and more about Melwood’s player clubhouse and the idea will gain popularity.
We’re going to be reading a lot more about these teams of best friends in future seasons.
Recently, Mohamed Salah spoke with beIN Sports about the togetherness amongst the Liverpool squad and what the bond the players share means to him personally. It’s powerful stuff.
“We should make a great use of this generation, as we have good chemistry between us and you can find harmony and everyone knows what to do and where to find our team-mates,” said Salah.
“Staying at our peak is not something easy but we’ll play hard to keep winning trophies. It’s impossible for me to say that I have enough trophies and I reached my maximum. I will continue to do my best to make next year better than the one before.
“I’m very happy. I can’t describe my feelings after we won the league after 30 years. I can see people’s joy and this is so important for all of us. I enjoy the atmosphere here. I love this place and I hope to stay for a long time.”
Until player clubhouses and best friend teams become the norm in football, it’s difficult to see Salah moving on from Liverpool. What Klopp has created on Merseyside renders anything else a step back.
