Shaqiri, along with Werder Bremen’s Milot Rashica, are rumoured to be of interest for a Lazio side expected to have Maurizio Sarri as their new manager.
While Liverpool’s offseason focus is on getting fit and making a few key reinforcements to a squad that won the Champions League and Premier League before it was blighted by injuries, for some clubs it will be a more major overhaul this summer.
One of those clubs is Serie A’s Lazio, who are reported to be close to bringing in Maurizio Sarri as their new manager. And with a new manager there are rumours of a new system and new signings, including perhaps Liverpool’s Xherdan Shaqiri.
According to local outlets, at least, Liverpool’s Shaqiri and Werder Bremen’s Milot Rashica—both some time attacking midfielders and wingers—are believed to be the most attractive options at the moment as the club look to switch from a 3-5-2 to a 4-3-3.
Recent reports on the English end have set Liverpool’s asking price for Shaqiri for as little as £7M as the club look to raise funds to bring in a midfielder and possibly also a forward, though a strong Euros performance could raise that considerably.
