The Reds are said to have joined Barcelona and Man United in looking to sign the Bayern winger. We have doubts.
Both Barcelona and Manchester United have been linked with 25-year-old Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman this summer, with the highly regarded French international having become a regular name in the rumour mill for some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Now, Liverpool are being added to the mix, with reports out of Spain this week claiming that the player’s agent Pini Zahavi has found yet another big club interested in signing his client this summer after efforts to extend his Bayern stay beyond 2023 stalled.
However, for anyone getting excited at the prospect of Coman joining the Reds this summer, it might be a little premature with Fichajes claiming they aren’t willing to pay more than €35M for the winger while Bayern aren’t willing to sell for less than €50M.
If the Barcelona and Man United and Liverpool really are in for the player—not to mention PSG, whose name are also dropped with the French side said to view Coman as a potential Kylian Mbappé replacement should one be needed—he won’t go for €35M.
Then there’s the part where the Spanish outlet literally drop the player’s agent’s name, which with contract talks with Bayern said to have stalled seems a strong signal as to just who’s behind Coman being linked to Barcelona and Man United and Liverpool.
Whether it’s a case of an agent trying to pressure the player’s current club or actively shopping his client, it doesn’t feel like a typical potential Liverpool transfer. Still, if Coman actually could be had for €35M it would be a hard opportunity to pass up.
