Brendan Rodgers wants a reunion and the player is said to be likely to take him up on the offer.

Adam Lallana seems certain to depart Liverpool when his contract runs down at the end of the current season, and today the rumour mongers have his destination settled as well, with is being suggested he will join Leicester City.

That’s the story from Sky Sports at least, who claim that Brendan Rodgers wants a reunion with the player he signed from Southampton back in 2014 and that the player is likely to be similarly interested in getting the move done.

On paper at least, Leicester would appear to be about as good a destination as the now 31-year-old midfielder could hope for, offering both a decent shot at playing time and likely Champions League football to go along with it.

At Liverpool, Lallana remains a favourite of manager Jürgen Klopp but has fallen some way down the pecking order, and while a new deal with the Reds might have been possible, it would have required a significant pay cut.

Less money and a limited squad role understandably wasn’t of interest to the player, and so it has been clear for some time he would move on when the season ended. A switch to Leicester, if it happens, would seem ideal for him.
