The Bundesliga starlet has been mooted for a big move as early as Summer 2020
Every big European club with anything resembling an eye for star talent and Manchester United are in for budding star Kai Havertz. The Bayer Leverkusen winger is mooted as arguably the biggest prospect on the continent at the moment with Kylian Mbappé-level potential.
As Europe’s preeminent superpower, Liverpool have long been linked with the 20-year-old attacker, with the Reds rumored to have made inquiries as far back as 2017. With the cat now out of the bag on Havertz’s immense talent, the likes of Juventus, Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG and of course Bayern Munich have begun bracing themselves for a £91m hole in their wallets to secure the young German’s services.
Leverkusen manager Peter Bosz, fresh off of losing his other young star in Julian Brandt in the summer, already knows the writing on is on the wall, admitting that that it would be difficult for his seventh-placed club to hold onto their prized player:
“Of course I would like to keep him,” Bosz told Sports Bild in response to the most obvious question in the world, “Just as I would have liked to keep Julian Brandt, for example.
“Kai is only 20 and still has room for improvement. I can help him there.
“But it is like this, at the end the player himself must feel when he is ready for the next step. Nobody can decide that for him.”
Be that as it may, the odds are that Havertz will be on the move next summer. If Mbappé to Liverpool doesn’t work out, this lad will definitely do.
