The Gladbach star will not be sold, say reports.

Since Gini Wijnaldum confirmed his departure to PSG this summer, the focus has been on finding a replacement for his incredible, multi-faceted talents. And among all the options, the frontrunner has been Florian Neuhaus. The 24-year-old German midfielder has impressed at Mönchengladbach and earned the admiration of Klopp and the Liverpool transfer committee.

However, Neuhaus signed a contract extension that could keep him at Gladbach until 2024. Now, according to German journalists, new Gladbach head coach Adi Hütter has no intentions of allowing Neuhaus to leave.

Apparently money isn’t a factor — though price is always a factor. Instead, just as Neuhaus was important to Marco Rose last season, Hütter plans to keep him around in his first season at Gladbach.

Of course, firm certainties in June soften to negotiations in July when the price is right. There’s still plenty of time for Liverpool to get the reinforcements they need in this transfer window. While they bargain hard, they’re also not afraid to splash the cash if it’s a player that Klopp deems essential to his plans.

Time will tell how this one will shake out.
