A vaccination deadline of October 1st is being established by the UK government.
With vaccination rates in the United Kingdom standing just shy of 55% of the population fully vaccinated and 70% having received at least one shot, the government has begun to take steps towards making full vaccination a necessity for those who wish to engage fully with their larger communities.
To that end, in the autumn care home workers will be required to be fully vaccinated to maintain their employment, with the government considering expanding that standard to the entire National Health Service, and as of October 1st proof of vaccination will be required for some activities.
That will include attending night clubs, concerts, and athletic events—in short, any crowded, communal venue. It is not entirely surprising to learn, then, that footballers and club staff will also be held to that standard and will be required to be vaccinated in line with the October 1st deadline.
According to Goal, Premier League players and staff will be held to the same standard as the fans and clubs are being encouraged to speed up the vaccination of their staff—both playing and otherwise—over the next month in order to avoid the possibility of any disruptions come the autumn.
