Liverpool continue their efforts to put pressure on league leaders Manchester City when they welcome Norwich City to Anfield on Saturday afternoon in a game where the Reds will be heavily favoured against a side desperate for anything to help keep their Premier League survival hopes alive.

For Norwich, those prospects currently look bleak, with the 18th-place Canaries currently sat four points off 17th-place Newcastle while having already played a game more than the club they’re chasing and five back of Everton in 16th—with Everton having an extra two games in hand on Norwich. Even a draw on Saturday, then, may not do much to help their dire circumstances.

Liverpool, on the other hand, are coming off a solid 2-0 victory over Inter Milan mid-week in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie against the Serie A giants. In the league, they sit a seemingly insurmountable nine points off Man City, aka the sportswashing public relations wing of a human rights abusing petrostate that they’re chasing. However, the Reds have a game in hand a game still to play against City which could in theory shrink the gap to three.
