Liverpool welcome Leeds United to Anfield for their rescheduled Premier League match meaning a rare league outing under the lights. For the Reds, this is their game in hand, and a win against Leeds would bring them back to within three points of leaders Manchester City with 12 games left to play in the 2021-22 season. However, tonight’s game won’t be the only consideration for manager Jürgen Klopp with a weekend League Cup final against Chelsea on the horizon.

For Leeds, after last season’s success as a newly promoted side, Marcelo Bielsa’s men have struggled so far this time around with injuries to the spine of the team complicating their second season back in the top flight. They currently sit in 15th place, five points clear of the relegation zone—and as it is for Liverpool, tonight’s game is a potentially invaluable game in hand for them. A win tonight would bring them level on points with 13th-place Crystal Palace.
