Every second that passes is a second closer we get to football resuming.
Remember last week when your faithful scribe was like, “Good news, things look like they’re getting better!”? Well, turns out, not so much. The world is burning and everything is a nightmare, but there’s a good chance we’ll be watching a Merseyside derby in less than three weeks, so let’s all focus on that, shall we?
Anyway, here’s some social media updates.
Trent Alexander-Arnold was one of several Liverpool players who posted the picture that the players took in training in order to honor George Floyd and #blacklivesmatter.
Andy Robertson commemorated the win against Tottenham with a tweet of a picture of him in Kiev in 2018, and him in Madrid in 2019.
James Milner posted a video of himself hoisting the Champions League trophy in the air, to the delight of the Liverpool fans in the crowd. Large groups of people gathered in one place — I vaguely remember what that was like.
Gini. Just…Gini. He exists and I’m so glad for it.
Virgil van Dijk posted a sponsored video about winning a chance to meet him. Mostly I try to avoid posting sponsored content here, but this one is adorable and the world is a trash fire, so whatever. Enjoy.
Here’s Mo Salah and his daughter enjoying some quarantine time in a teepee, for some reason, and also a pool.
And bonus!
And finally, more reminiscing from Roberto Firmino. Come for the adorable pictures with his family, stay for the sensual trophy rubbing, courtesy of Alisson.
Stay happy and safe, everyone!
