I mean, he’s definitely coming here now, right?

No one could fault Liverpool’s nearly perfect run of league games this season. With only one draw and one loss, the Reds were well on their way to the title before the universe remembered that this was Liverpool and literally created a plague to stop them from finally lifting that trophy.

Praise has come from every corner of the football world, and the latest to chime in is PSG star Kylian Mbappe. The 21-year-old French striker had this to say about Liverpool:

“This season, Liverpool have been a machine in the Premier League. They have made winning look easy but the truth is that it is never easy.

“Performances like they have been having don’t just happen. To be as ruthless as they have been would come from lots of hard work in training and from having a very good manager.”

So, without jumping to any hasty conclusions, I feel like this is conclusive proof that Mbappe will be headed to Merseyside in time to start the 2020-21 season. His contract with the French giants is set to expire in the summer of 2022, but if Klopp and the transfer committee have any interest in landing him, well, they’ll be in very good company.

If the World Cup winner becomes available, then all of European football will take notice, and PSG will demand a hefty sum for the privilege.

Still, with the Premier League still potentially weeks away from returning, I’ll enjoy spending my time daydreaming about a summer transfer window that gives us both Timo Werner and Mbappe.
