Well that was fun.

Maybe it’s because we just haven’t seen Liverpool in full flow like that for months, but I for one really enjoyed the 4-0 win over Crystal Palace. Everything just felt right. It was all good.

Jürgen Klopp was obviously delighted.

“Wow”, the Liverpool manager exclaimed to Sky Sports. “Imagine if this stadium would have been full today, and all the people would have experienced it live. It would have been amazing.

“The boys played like everyone was in the stadium. They pushed themselves and the atmosphere on the pitch was incredible. Today was for sure the best counter-pressing game I saw behind closed doors!

“I liked it a lot. I liked the game so much. They are 4-0 up in the 87th minute, and four players are chasing one poor Crystal Palace player like it’s the only ball in the world. Wonderful result, wonderful game. All good.”

The attention of course now turns to Manchester City’s visit to Chelsea, where a draw or loss for Pep Guardiola’s side would see Liverpool crowned champions. But Klopp isn’t thinking about that.

“I don’t even know if I’ll watch it. The last one I watched to 3-0, and then it was really a waste of time. They are really brilliant. The football they play I really like a lot. We are different, we cannot be like Man City.”

Liverpool will win the title. If it doesn’t happen tomorrow it will happen the next game, or the game after, or the game after that. But it’s happening. It’s real. It’s coming.
