The Bayer Leverkusen midfielder has signaled his desire for a new challenge.

If you haven’t already, it’s officially time to get onto the Kai Havertz brand of Liverpool transfer rumours. It’s a very exciting field in this season’s mongering.

The Bayer Leverkusen midfielder is only 20-years-old and has already caught the eye of many a football manager across Europe. Jürgen Klopp is said to be interested. But it’s unclear whether or not Michael Edwards sees a negotiation project worthy of his time and portfolio.

What is becoming more clear is that young Kai has taken up his own interest in making a big move when the window opens. Havertz recently spoke of his desire for a new challenge and a willingness to leave Die Werkself and even the Bundesliga all together if the right opportunity presented itself.

“Leverkusen are a great club, I feel good,” Havertz said to Sport Bild.

“I have always said that. But, of course, I want to take the next step in my career at some point. That’s my ambition.

“I’m ready to take a big step and I like challenges. For me, this also includes abroad.

“The coach is a very important person for me. It must be a good fit. You can see that with our coach, Peter Bosz.

“For me, the sporting direction of the club is also reflected in the choice of coach.”

Bayern Munich are, of course, also linked with Havertz and, of course, also considered to be shoo-ins for his signature. But based on what Kai says he’s looking for in a new experience, the combination of Klopp and Liverpool would surely exceed his requirements.
