The Liverpool manager wins the award for the second consecutive month.
It’s been an incredible start to the season for Liverpool. Jürgen Klopp has masterminded a perfect run through the first eight matches while Manchester City have struggled to keep up with the pace. Sure, it’s still too early to get too excited about the title race but there’s something special happening at Liverpool these days. And that’s all down to Mr. September Premier League Manager of the Month himself.
Just as Klopp was putting away his August MOTM award another one arrived. Taking maximum points from Newcastle United, Chelsea, and Sheffield United put the German manager at the top of the list again in September. Other hopefuls to receive the accolade were Eddie Howe, Frank Lampard, and Brendan Rodgers.
Klopp has said many times that he is unconcerned with personal glory, whether for himself or his players. The manager understands football as a team effort. So, while he is the boss boss, the club’s success is due to a collective endeavor. The first time he speaks publicly about winning again I’m sure he’ll repeat that sentiment.
Liverpool are currently 8 points above Pep Guardiola’s side. Klopp’s team, as you know, have been far from perfect on the pitch but determination and a strong mentality throughout the squad have allowed a continuous collection of three points.
Long may this lucrative stretch of games run. Tip your cap to our excellent leader, the big, happy German manager who has made it possible.
