After defeating League One side Shrewsbury Town in the third round of the 2022 edition of the FA Cup, Liverpool move on to face Championship outfit Cardiff City in round four with a chance to be one of the final 16 teams in the tournament on the line—and to avoid the fate of historic rivals Manchester United, who fell to Middlesbrough in penalties on Friday.

For the Reds, after surviving an uptick of injuries in January, manager Jürgen Klopp will have a nearly full squad to chose from with AFCoN absentees Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané the only key absences. Particularly noteworthy is an expected return for standout young talent Harvey Elliott, who is expected to as least make the bench on Sunday and might even be in line for his first start as he returns from injury.

Many Liverpool fans will be familiar with opponents Cardiff from their times in the Premier League over the past decade. This season, though, they are closer to relegation than a return to the top flight, as they stand 20th out of 24 sides in the Championship. Despite their relatively low standing, they are currently a seemingly comfortable nine points clear. Stick with The Liverpool Offside for full coverage of Sunday’s match.
