The Wycombe Wanderers striker has never been quiet about his love for the Reds, and he wore a Liverpool kit to training the day after Liverpool clinched the league

There are all kinds of famous and semi-famous Liverpool fans around the world. Samuel L Jackson is known for his “Liverpooooooooool” tweets when the Reds win a game. From the NBA, coach Sam Kerr and star player and part owner, Lebron James, were posting about their admiration for the squad. Of course, we would be remiss if we didn’t mention my much better looking and wealthier doppelgänger, actor Damian Lewis as well.

Perhaps my favorite Liverpool superfan, however, is Wycombe Wanderers striker and self-entitled “Beast Mode”, Adebayo Akinfenwa. The big man with a bigger personality has been unabashed in his love for Liverpool. He famously promised to punch any of his teammates at AFC Wimbledon if they tried to swap kits with Steven Gerrard when Liverpool played his team in a 2015 cup match.

So, it should come as no surprise that the 38 year old striker was chuffed when Liverpool clinched the title. He was so proud, in fact, that he was happy to pay the fine elicited from wearing a Liverpool kit to training rather than his team-issued training gear. He posted a video to instagram wearing the kit ahead of training with many of his teammates shaking their heads in mock chagrin, trying to laugh.

Here’s to hoping that Liverpool sign Akinfenwa to a one day contract so he can retire as a Liverpool player.
