The deal will keep him at the club until the end of the season.

Adam Lallana’s current contract is set to expire on the 30th of this month. Usually that would put him well into the summer offseason, but since COVID-19 has postponed the league, June 30th would now be a full seven games before the end of the season.

Considering this, the club is set to extend Lallana’s contract until the end of this season, so that he can continue to play for the Reds. The proposed season should come to a close on July 26th, so Lallana is looking at about a one month extension. This allows him to get to celebrate his contribution with his teammates if Liverpool win the league as they’re expected to do.

Lallana was brought to Anfield from Southampton by Brendan Rodgers, and frequent injuries unfortunately hindered his progress every time he put together a run of good performances.

The 32-year-old midfielder is likely headed for another Premier League team for next season, with several clubs apparently interested. Hopefully, though, it will happen after he lifts the Premier League trophy.
